I thought I knew vocabulary, until started to go through this book. This is a lifetime resource for anyone who wants to develop a fuller reservoir of words. I am most surprised to see how many words I hear all the time, but never knew their meaning! I think people underestimate the role vocabulary plays in comprehension and speaking/writing prowess. Great book!
I have read many books of this kind over the years, in preparation for certification exams, and to keep up with the Vocab, due to my line of work. Even though this one only gives the meaning of words without any examples, it is still extremely interesting: I can't put it down!! I also like very much the exercises at the back of the book, which is exactly what I needed for an upcoming exam. LOVE IT and RECOMMEND IT!!
