Alexander White writes the best books. I bought his P900 manual to use with my P900, so after I got the new P1000 camera I checked every other day to see if his new book was available. It's loaded with illustrations and is well-indexed (more than six pages of index). In his books, the illustrations actually match what you see on the camera. It's not like other manuals that tell you to go to Screen 2, but don't explain how to get there. Or they say go to Screen 2 and click on Item 3 -- but when you find Screen 2, there is no Item 3. In White's books, the language is simple, clear and easy to understand. If you're going to spend $1,000 on a P1000 camera, you might as well spring for a few extra bucks to learn how to use it. I bought the PDF version for my laptop, and I also bought the print version. I prefer the print because I can sit at my kitchen table with the book and the camera, and page back and forth quickly between sections.
Hands down the best camera guide I have seen. Not just a rehash of the Nikon Owners Manual (which is terrible in my opinion) but solid advice on how to use best use the P1000’s features and how to navigate Nikon’s inefficient menu system. Two thumbs up!!
This is the most informative, well written 'user manual' I've ever gotten for a camera. The P-1000 has many new aspects from other Nikon products and this book clearly explains the camera in easy to read format. I would advise P-1000 owners to throw away (or don't download) the Nikon User Manual and get this.
Nicely laid out and filled with useful info on a camera I found difficult to find. The book is written in language even a beginner could comprehend, but the info is comprehensive and detailed. Everything you need to know is in here and it is not all just about the long lens.
Having never used the Coolpix 900 and shooting manual all the time I was at a loss on how to let the camera do some of the work. Great book. I highly recommend!

This is a well written and informative book on Nikon P-1000 camera. Easy to read.
Well written but the real clincher is I received an electronic version three weeks before my paper version arrived: very important with a $1,000 camera.
